BLACKOUT THE SYSTEM

Not A Moment - But A Movement!

Who We Are

Unity is Community

  • PROMOTE UNITY - NOT DIVISION

  • 100% PEACEFUL, NON-VIOLENT

  • LEGAL AND ETHICAL

BLACKOUT THE SYSTEM is a national, non-partisan grassroots movement born from frustration, injustice, and the undeniable truth that the people hold the power - not corrupt governments, not billionaires, and not broken systems.

We are a fast-growing collective of people from every walk of life—across races, cultures, classes, faiths, and political beliefs. Together, we know that with unity, we have unstoppable power to restore justice and reclaim control over our livelihoods and our future. Young and old, we are teachers and healthcare workers, union members and farmers, IT and business professionals, service industry workers, retirees, students—the list goes on. We are We The People, and we have declared: ENOUGH!

Our fight is twofold. First, we are organizing strategic, 100% peaceful and legal resistance actions—boycotts, strikes, and coordinated events—that divest our labor, our dollars, and our support from the system that has fueled massive wealth inequality, eroded our quality of life, exploited workers, and dismantled our democratic rights. Second, we are working to build, connect and strengthen parallel, community-based systems that meet real needs: food, healthcare, local economies, and networks of support that make people less dependent on big business and more resilient against exploitation.

BLACKOUT THE SYSTEM IS NOT A MOMENT - IT'S A MOVEMENT!

Our promise of prosperity if we "do the work" has diminished and our democracy has fallen ill. What we are experiencing—here in the United States and across the world—is a symptom of a single disease: Greed. We have to ask the question: Why are there so many successful corporations, but not successful employees?  Why do the top 10% in our country hold almost 70% of all wealth, while the bottom 50% of us only hold 2.5% - COMBINED? Corporate employees directly determine successes of these corporations, but are being under-valued and not appropriately compensated. No workers, no company - it's that simple.

The hardships we're collectively facing and the division of our country is not accidental—it is engineered, deliberate, and designed to diminish our power and distracted from the truth. This is not a battle of left versus right; it is a struggle of up versus down - most wealthy against all the rest of us - corporation versus the Constitution. Corporations have gained more of an influence over policy than We The People have.

Blackout The System stands against the widening disparity between income and the cost of living; as well as the exploitation of workers that fuels the obscene wealth of a handful of corporate and billionaire hoarders resulting in ever-widening wealth inequality.

We also stand against the infringement of the human rights of all people and the systematic dismantling of our nation’s Constitution. These forces—“the system”—have stolen our prosperity, corrupted our democracy, silenced our collective voice, and violated the very principles of freedom and equality promised to us all.

Our mission is clear: to strategically and peacefully shut down the U.S. economy by withdrawing our labor, our spending, and our financial support. By doing so, we force the system to hear us—We The People.

But periodic resistance alone is not enough. We must unite under a shared vision and language to bring forth a massive cultural shift. A shift to reclaim our dollars, our labor, and our resources and return them to where they belong: our communities. By developing local systems—economic, social, and cultural—we become less dependent on corporations and more resilient to their exploitation. The stronger our communities, the weaker "the system" becomes. We’re not just talking about what’s wrong; we’re building what is right. A civic force that rivals the rigged system. Real change begins at the local level, where people work together, build together, and rise together.

Blackout The System is not just a one-and-done strike, boycott or protest. It is a cure – a long-term solution. It is a declaration that the age of greed must end—and that the people are uniting, rising, reclaiming their rights and sovereignty, and building a future rooted in justice, equality, and a restored democratic voice of  WE THE PEOPLE.

UNITE. BUILD. RISE. RECLAIM.
